They solve problems for families living in poverty, seniors, individuals with disabilities, immigrants, veterans, and survivors of domestic violence. On their site, they also have a Legal Advice Line. This provides counsel and advice in all languages on a range of civil legal issues. Attorneys may give a caller legal advice, schedule eligible clients for an appointment in a neighborhood office, or provide the caller with a referral to other social services organizations when appropriate. For parents of children on the autism spectrum, legal aid can help you while you advocate for the services your child needs in school.
Support for Families of Children with Disabilities
Support for Families of Children with Disabilities offers information, education, and parent-to-parent support free of charge to families and professionals of children with any kind of disability or special health care need in San Francisco. They provide support groups, educational workshops, mentors, social work services, and more. Spectrum Strategies
Spectrum Strategies exists to provide support for families of children with autism. One of their programs is a sibling support group designed to help the brothers and sisters of those with autism connect. Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC) provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities in Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo counties.
